swelling, redness, or bruising initially, but these effects are temporary and typically subside
within a few days. Results will be visible once any swelling resolves, often within 1-2 weeks
after treatment.

1. Avoid Certain Medications and Supplements: In the week leading up to your treatment,
try to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen,
vitamin E, and fish oil) if possible, as these may increase the likelihood of bruising. Always
consult with your doctor before adjusting prescribed medications.

2. Limit Alcohol and Smoking: Refrain from consuming alcohol and smoking for at least 24
hours before your appointment, as they can impact circulation and increase the risk of
bruising.

3. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days before treatment to keep your skin hydrated
and help improve the appearance of your lips.

4. Avoid Certain Skin Treatments: Refrain from using strong skincare treatments, like
exfoliants or chemical peels, around the mouth area for at least 3 days before your
procedure.

5. Cold Sore History: If you have a history of cold sores, inform Aesthetic Nurse Joanna, as
treatment may trigger an outbreak. Antiviral medication may be recommended beforehand
to reduce this risk.

1. Avoid Touching or Applying Pressure: Refrain from touching, massaging, or pressing on
the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the product to settle properly.

2. Stay Hydrated: Keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water, which can help
maintain optimal lip hydration and enhance results.

3. Apply Cold Compress if Needed: Use a cold compress to reduce any initial swelling or
bruising, being careful not to apply direct pressure on the lips.

4. Exercise and Activity: Avoid strenuous physical activity for 24 hours after treatment, as
exercise can increase blood flow and may contribute to swelling or bruising.

5. Avoid Heat Exposure: Refrain from hot showers, saunas, and sun exposure for at least 24
hours, as heat may intensify swelling.

6. Limit Alcohol and Blood Thinners: Continue to avoid alcohol and blood-thinning
medications for at least 24 hours post-treatment to reduce bruising.

7. Gentle Skincare: Avoid using strong skincare products or exfoliants around the mouth for
a few days after treatment to protect the area.

8. Use Lip Balm Sparingly: After 24 hours, you can apply a gentle, hydrating lip balm as
needed to keep your lips moisturized.

9. Monitor for Reactions*: Minor swelling, redness, and bruising are normal and should
